How do I change the frequency on my phone?

It may not be hard but most likely requires a hard to find and expensive keyed screwdriver to open it. Cingular may overcharge. At least in the states where I live there are always a bunch of cheap-o cell phone accessory stands in the mall and the guys are more than happy to perform the task for you. They maybe go for a maximum of $20 and the people that sell you them change it for you and show you how to do it yourself. It's very easy I just can't explain it in words.
But, yeah go and find a cell phone stand where they sell these things and i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

When you tell the Phone company that you want to change your Land-line Phone number, do they do it from their office, or do they have to switch the wires around on the utility pole?How does the Phone company change your Phone number?
It is all done electronically within the phone switch, and quickly (can be done within a minute after you hang up with the customer service person).
In all but the very smallest phone companies, this is going to be handled by an automated system that gets the number change order from the order system computer, connects to the telephone switch and sends the proper set of commands to tell the switch to change the number that is associated with a specific line (yours).
At the same time, the software will set up the switch to divert any calls that come in to the old number to an %26quot;intercept%26quot;, which is the announcement that says the number is no longer in service, or if you specify you want something else, the announcement service can tell the caller what the new number is.How does the Phone company change your Phone number?

My mom sais I cannot change my cell phone because we are under a family plan, but I question her intelligence. She sais that to change my plan she would have to change everyone's plan in the family. A few weeks ago, I lost my phone which was a prepaid service in t-mobile and now that I have a new phone, I want to use the same phone number that I had in the last phone but on a different/new phone.
