Changing phones while under contract?

I am currently under a 2 year contract with verizon. I would like to switch my phone, but am not eligible for an upgrade until January. I know that I can buy the cellphone I want from a second party--such as through ebay or craigslist, but I do not know what to do once I get the phone. How do I sync the information from my old phone to new one, etc?

I work for Verizon. There are no sim cards in any verizon phones. You use a Memory card to save pix and videos and you can download Backup Assistant to transfer contacts or the store can do it for you. If you dont want to use a memory card, sync the files to your computer with a USB cord. There is no problem switching phones are far as your contract goes tho.Changing phones while under contract?
ok so, i do this all the time, i buy diff phones like crazy, if your phone has a sim card than your a-ok just buy the new phone and put the card in the new phone, your contacts will be moved to the new phone, as for pics, there is several options, the easiest of which is to get a micro sd card for your phone (if your phone can use one) and put pics on it and put it in the new phone, two, get a data cable for each and put the pics on your comp and then from your comp to your new phone, or bluetooth the pics from old phone to a third phone and then swith phones and bluetooth pics from third phone to the new phone, and once you get your new phone working, i would just call your service provider and tell them that you got a new phone and they will update the network, it does not breech your contract in any wayChanging phones while under contract?
Take the battery cover and battery off of your phone and check to see if there is a sim card in it. If there is, you can just change out the cards. But you would have to make sure the contacts are saved on the card. You would loose any ring-tones and things like that though, but if your phone and bluetooth, then you could use that!
