How to change my phones password(razr)?

I have a razr, verizon, track phone and recently, my uncle stole it and wrote to people stuff that caused a lot of confusion and problems for me. Ever since, I've been paranoid and never not knowing or holding on to my phone. I want to just set the password on it and be able to not have to worry about it but I can't remember the password I set originally to set it? Anyway to find out, I really need this peace of mind?How to change my phones password(razr)?
The Password is originally set to 0000 but if you changed it this will not work.

You go to Settings-Security-New Passwords and then change any code.
