you need to contact a new provider and set up when you will change. then you need to give BT 30 days notice of when you want their service to end, but remember if you are on a contract either 12 or 18 months for you're broadband this must have ended by that point. then BT will contact you with a MAC code, without the MAC code you're new provider will not be able to access the telephone line as it will still have a BT marker on it.

They are all separate, your line rental traditionally will be with bt, and in many package cases will remain so. Your broadband will require a migration code to change supplier to can get this through hell and high water from your existing supplier. Your phone package can be altered by your next supplier when you join them. I just got in touch with the new people and they sorted it all out for me including the dates of the change over and everything. after research i found that the talk talk package was hard to beat just get in touch with talk talk or carphone warehouse and they will sort everything out for you
