Changing phones with verizon?

i have a verizon phone and i recently dropped it in the water. since i dont have an upgrade im going to use my old phone that still works. how do i activate my old phone while keeping my phone number? i also want to do it online or over the phone cause i have no time to go to the store.Changing phones with verizon?
on the phone you want to use, dial *228 (it will say activation) then listen and press, upgrade device. then enter your phone number, and then it will ask for the last 4 of a social security number, which is whoever's the account is under.Changing phones with verizon?
Go to verizon web site and click the support tab.Then under phone/device click activate phone. Follow the steps to activate the phone you want.You can have the number ported to that phone.
