Need to change from virgin moble number to verizon cell phone?

i was given a verizon cell phone ,how can i get my number from virgin cell phone changed to it?Need to change from virgin moble number to verizon cell phone?
When you go to a Verizon store or contact their customer service to set up your account, tell them that you have a phone number that you want to transfer to the new Verizon account. They should be able to do that.
