it depends on what your trying to do actually.
first you have to make sure you can switch your number over to the other carrier.....if its just prepaid service it doesnt cost anything to switch just stop paying for minutes with TELSTRA and buy a new virgin phone with a virgin mobile card.HElP pLeaSe!!!! ABOUT PHONES?
depends on your contract - (I despise Telstra too!) If you own you phone outright and you not on a contract you should be ok. if you're on a contract (usually to pay off the ph) you will have to buy the remainder outright before switching. That part is the same with all companies.
You will have to call telstra to find out what's owing, and then when you're ready to switch, call them to cancel, and call virgin to connect or use their website.
Virgin are v good - I've been with them for 4 years.
